On August 21, 2016, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi), Khmer people from Thanh Tan commune, Thanh Tri district, Soc Trang province re-presented the rice ceremony. squeezed (settle down fetters). This is an opportunity for Khmer compatriots to remember the merits of ancestors, grandparents, parents, relatives ...
In the framework of the activity "Khmer ethnic people with unique Southern culture" on the occasion of the "Western River" at the "Common House" of the Khmer people in Soc Trang province, the ceremony of offering increased offerings to boys in the pagoda or sometimes held at home. This is an opportunity for each person to show their respect, when the offering ceremony, the reunion with the presence of descendants makes the soul of the deceased also happier.

According to the Precepts, every year to the monk's retreat season, monks and nuns must seek a suitable place to enter, this is called the lower school. However, if there is no lower school or lower school in the distance, the place of residence may be the temple, the monastery, the retreat, or any other suitable place.

The daily practice programs of lower schools are not exactly the same in terms of the moment but the overall achievement is not only in meditation, prayer, morning chanting, evening chanting, studying catechism, studying the scriptures and accepting The daily work of the temple. The practice period usually starts at 4 am, awakening them, meditating and chanting prayers. The elaborate morning ended at 6:30, the monks resting half an hour before breakfast. About an hour after breakfast is working time. From 9 am to 11:30 pm they are studying the teachings and the precepts of the novices, the novices, the novice monks and the new monks. The senior monks on lower age spend this time translating scriptures or teaching them. At half past eleven is the time for rest and preparing for lunch at midday. Twelve noon is the hour to worship the road, Have lunch and lunch for about 1 hour to continue the afternoon course from 2 am to 5:30 pm with activities as well as morning activities including cooperation, study, and meditation. The elaborate afternoon is usually the Pure Land ceremony, which begins at 7 pm. It is followed by study time or meditation. Ten hours, will be the only time. Anyone who wants to continue to meditate can continue until late at night.

The purpose of this ceremony is to give relatives and relatives the opportunity to express their gratitude and gratitude to their parents and grandparents. At the same time, he also sincerely devoted offerings to the Three Jewels and raised the money. Thanks to the attentiveness of the monks and nuns, the spirit of the deceased quickly became supernatural.

The season of settling is the most important time of the year for monks and nuns, in which the meaning of studying in the peaceful and peaceful environment is most prominent. Each settlement season is a religious age of a monk's life. This is an extremely important and practical thought of the Sangha, showing compassion for all beings and being the basis for the practice of the Buddhists at home. This is also a convenient time for laypeople to have the opportunity to be close to the monks to study the Dharma, and also an opportunity to create meritorious blessings by maintaining them during the Settlement season.

At the beginning of the alms round is the recitation and sermon of the Achas, after which the monks chant, give thanksgiving to those who have made real food and also to bring the food to the souls of grandparents, deceased parents. In the middle of the chanting, the monks stopped to enjoy the real food that the people offered. Afterwards, the monks chanted prayers for benefactors and pray for the souls of the deceased.

The feast of the secular retreat is a very important ritual for the Khmer in Soc Trang. It is not only a believer's heart to the monks but also to show the heart of the living to the dead, to the gods and to hungry souls. So, despite being busy with hundreds of thousands of jobs, despite being poor and difficult, the Khmer also find ways to prepare sufficient food, rice soup, and fruit cakes to bring to the temple. It is a good traditional tradition of the Khmer people maintained from generation to generation.
